King Tut In Public

October 26th, 2007

I am a big fan of museums though I wish it was somewhere near here where the officials put the mummy of King Tut. But oh well, it will be soon on display for the first time for the public in Egypt. The mummy will be removed from its sarcophagus, put into a climate-controlled glass case. It is an effort of the Egyptian councils and officials to preserve the mummy which has been in poor condition since the first time it was discovered.

Archaeologist Howard Carter discovered Tutankhamun’s treasure-filled tomb in 1922, with its riches so much intact. The discovery of it was surrounded with magic and mystery that attract people from all over the world. It is believed that exposing a mummy is like resurrecting the myth of pharaohs curse bringing tragedy to those who disturb his tomb.
